2020 Fall Season of College Football May Not Happen

Saturday, August 8, the bottom started to fall out, as far as any hope the fall football season was salvageable. First, the Mid-American Conference announced they were pulling the plug, followed by a similar announcement by the Big Ten pumping the brakes on all full-pads practice.

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic continues to derailed American sports on every level of play. According to Sports Illustrated, a decision to postpone or cancel the rest of the season is almost inevitable. All evidence is pointing to the likelihood of that happening. It’s obvious the health and well being of athletes, coaching, and sporting staff is the main concern.

Conference commissioners and president of all the big leagues will engage in talks this week to make a collective decision. Sources say details on the fate of fall football will be revealed in the next 72 hours.
