Bush-Era Tax Cuts Sail Through Procedural Vote
Just when we are all broke and having to manage to get through the holidays, the last thing we need is a rise on taxes!!!! A measure that would extend Bush-era tax cuts easily gathered enough votes Monday to be pushed to the floor for a final vote.
The bill extending the tax cuts for another two years passed 83-15.
Included in the bill is a measure that extends unemployment benefits by 13 months, as well as a reduction in the estate tax to less than 35 percent for individual estates valued at $5 million and $10 million for married couples.
If the bill is passed by the Senate, it will go to the House for final approval.
Let's hope this gets fixed!
