LHSAA Girls Basketball Playoffs

In the Class 3A state championship game, the Lady Knights of South Beauregard claimed the crown after defeating Albany 60-47. It's the first state title for South Beauregard since 1972. The Lady Knights finish their season with a record of 37-3.

In the 5A state championship game, the top seeded Lady Bucs of Barbe fell to Destrehan 62-57. Barbe will finish the season with a record of 33-4.

The men's state basketball tournament get underway today at Burton Coliseum. Here's the lineup for today's action:

All winners will advance to the state championship game of their respective classes and divisions.

College Basketball

The McNeese men's and women's basketball teams wrapped up the regular season on Saturday by hosting Lamar in a double header at Burton Coliseum.

The Cowgirls lost the first game of the double header 83-67. The Cowgirls finish the regular season 13-16 overall and 8-10 in Southland Conference play. The Cowgirls will participate in the Southland Conference Tournament. Their first game will be at 1:30 on Thursday against Nicholls State.

The men's season came to an end with a 90-83 loss to Lamar. The men finish 7-22 on the season and 4-14 in Southland Conference play.

College Baseball

The McNeese Cowboys had a great weekend after sweeping Prairie View A&M. The Cowboys won Friday night 16-7 and swept a double header on Saturday by scores of 12-9 and 7-2. The Cowboys will now prepare for the big match up with LSU on Wednesday in Lake Charles.

College Softball

The McNeese Cowgirl softball team had a good showing at the San Diego Classic over the weekend. After going 2-0 on Thursday, the Cowgirls continued their winning ways on Friday by sweeping a double header against San Jose State 15-11 and UC Davis 10-3 before dropping their final game to Oregon State 7-2 on Saturday. The Cowgirls will return to action when they host Houston Baptist tomorrow night in Lake Charles.
