First Confirmed COVID-19 Case In Beaumont, TX

The first case of COVID-19 in Beaumont, Texas has been confirmed by the Beaumont Public Health Department (BPHD), making it the closest confirmed case to Lake Charles so far.

The BPHD is not releasing their identity at this time, but have stressed that the individual had self-quarantined prior to receiving test results and has been urged to continue to do so.

Officials have also said that there is no evidence of community spread at this time and the the risk for the residents of Beaumont remains low.

The individual is not currently severe enough to be hospitalized.
