According to an article on KPLC, the Office of Motor Vehicles Commissioner Karen St. Germain has released more OMV closures across the state of Louisiana. An employee of the OMV was working in an administrative role at various locations and tested positive for COVID-19. However, the employee did not have direct contact with the public while at these locations according to the Commissioner, but did interact with other employees.

The Lake Charles location was one of the locations the employee did work at before testing positive, so it has been shut down along with offices in Alexandria, Lafayette, Monroe, and Shreveport. The commissioner suggests anyone needing assistance from the OMV visit their website and utilize it for renewals of ID cards, attain driving records, registrations, and driver's license renewals.

If you must visit one of their offices in person, the OMV released a website that has information on what offices are open and their times of operations. You can visit it here.
