LSU Athletics announced today that the university has plans to welcome ticketed fans back to Tiger Stadium for the 2020 football season. However, there will be a number of significant changes to game day policies due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In coordination with state public health officials, the Southeastern Conference, and university officials, Tiger Stadium will open at 25 percent capacity and the traditional tailgating will not be permitted this year.

Gov. John Bel Edwards said of the upcoming 2020 season, “This plan focuses on the health and safety of all those attending LSU football games, from the fans to the team to the workers.”

The Tigers join other SEC Universities by reducing capacity at the stadium and taking a year off from tailgating for the sake of bringing football back.
