The first outdoor drive-in style concert of its kind in SWLA has been officially canceled as of today.

The two-day event contained a line-up of local musicians performing live on a stage with concert goers staying safely in their parking spots and vehicles to enjoy the show. As you parked, you would have your own area to enjoy the concert by rolling down your windows and listening or tuning your radio to the concert itself.

Large LED screens were going to be set up across the parking lot to make sure you had the best view no matter where you were parked. The event announced a few hours ago that it is having to cancel the show.

Joyce Patterson, director of the McNeese Alumni Association, wrote in a release that it was brought to their attention that being able to enforce the current Phase Two of social distancing would be rather difficult to do. The association was partnered with Deep South Productions and marketing team Brandgineers to provide a unique concert experience to the area.

The statement did mention that, although this event has been canceled, they are continuing to work out having it later on in the summer after the current phase is complete.
