UPDATE: 9:00 AM CST - Broussard has turned himself in to authorities at 8:30 am this morning according to the BPSO.

The manhunt continues for Neil P. Broussard, the suspect in a double homicide in Westlake continues in Ragley and the surrounding areas.

The search is being conducted in a joint effort by the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office, the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office, and the DeRidder Police Department. The search started yesterday and continues today by air and land.

Broussard, 51 of Lake Charles, is a registered sex offender and is to be considered armed and dangerous. Beauregard Sheriff Mark Herford is advising residents in the Ragley area to keep their doors locked and to be aware of their surroundings. Authorities believe Broussard could be driving a silver Ford Mustang with the Louisiana license plate 893CIP.

He is suspected of killing 17-year-old Kyla Hidalgo and 18-year-old Kaleb Charlton yesterday at around 4:00am in Westlake. Kyla's mother, Catherine Hidalgo, was shot several times but survived and deputies say she named Broussard as the shooter and told them he kidnapped her 14-year-old daughter. She is currently listed in critical condition at a local hospital.

The 14-year-old girl was found a few hours later in Ragely walking out of the woods. It's believed Broussard is still in the area.
