UL welcomed 42 students from McNeese State University who were displaced by Hurricane Laura, providing housing and guiding them through an orientation today.

UL and McNeese are both under the University of Louisiana umbrella, so the displaced students are already in the "system", according to the story by The Advertiser.

The president of the University of Louisiana system estimates damage at McNeese from Hurricane Laura to be between $75M and $200M. Classes have already been delayed for the better part of a month, and should resume this week.

UL is providing housing for the 42 McNeese students, who will be taking online classes until their campus has recovered from the storm.

Welcome to Lafayette!
