Social media is always full of videos with funny, informative, and how-to videos. One of those videos that has been circulating is a hack about taking tortillas and putting them into a toaster.

In the video, someone puts a tortilla inside of a toaster and pushes the button down. After cooking for a few minutes, the video shows the tortilla poofs up into a balloon-like shape. Then, they take the tortilla out of the toaster, cut the top open, and start stuffing it with meat and all the fixings for a pouch-like burrito or soft taco. This video already has over 3.8 million views so far.

Here is the video, but does it really work?

Well, yesterday was National Fajita Day, and as everyone calls it Taco Tuesday, we decided what the heck, let's try it for ourselves. We bought a pack of regular flour tortillas from a grocery store here in Lake Charles, broke out an ordinary household toaster, and popped in the tortilla.

We pushed down the button and waited a couple of minutes. One half of the tortilla started poofing up but the bottom half didn't. We didn't want to burn the tortilla, so we brought it back up and flipped it, thinking that if we turned it 180 degrees and pushed it back down, the other side would poof up.

Well, it didn't and the picture below shows exactly what our end result was after cooking it for about four minutes total. Plus, one side of the tortilla burned a little bit. We would say fail on this viral hack.
